Also known as “bare foot island” and with a population of 300, Jost van Dyke has a laidback atmosphere, with some awesome spots to check out.

White Bay is one of the most popular beaches in the British Virgin Islands. It has numerous bars and restaurants dotting the shores so that you can easily bar and food hop! We definitely recommend trying one of the famous “Painkiller” cocktails which originated at the Soggy Dollar Bar. This is a drink renown throughout the Caribbean and will quickly help ease any pain and help you feel relaxed!

Another chill spot to visit is Foxy’s Tamarind Bar in Great Harbour, where you can grab some lunch and listen to live entertainment along the beach side. You might also see a performance from the Caribbean calypso star himself; “Foxy Callwood” – a man who has had some international hits and can often be heard singing on channel 57 of Sirius XM Radio!

For the more adventurous types, Foxy’s Taboo is another bar and restaurant located in a beautiful bay called Diamond Cay and one of the most exciting things about this place is that there is a little hike to the “Bubbly Pool”. This short trail takes you through a scenic mangrove path, over a few boulders, and then descends down to the bubbly pool. This is a natural formation where waves create a swirling natural jacuzzi. If you weren’t relaxed before, you certainly will be here!

Be sure to also make a pit stop at Sandy Cay or Sandy Spit which are located just off from Jost Van Dyke’s southern shores. These two islands are what dreams are made of! Sandy Cay (the bigger of the two) is 13 square miles, filled with tropical greenery and a beach on its leeward side. Sandy Spit is even smaller and the name is spot on, as that is quite literally all this island is - a spit of sand! Although very small, both these islands are perfectly remote and provide a sense of zen away from the real world. Check out our Cast Away Package to get here!
